The Habotail silk is painted with three layers of dyes and different drying times between layers. This is a unique technique I have developed over the years. Please note that I "concoct" all my silk dyes and they are permanent. Dry clean only.
The process allows the sheen to remain on the silk, keeping it beautiful and luxurious. Habotai silk is also called China Silk. Silk was originally discovered in China. Proof of the earliest use of silk in China date to about 2600 BC. It took many centuries before the start of silk weaving in Europe. The first silk weaving started in the fifteenth Century in the city of Tours France, and became more extensive in the City of Lyon a century later.
