Blue prism stone Glass Beer Stein from Saechsische Glasfabrik Radeberg, Germany, from the 1900s, marked on base with SG crown mark.
Lid engraved with the number 6. and two hard to make out letters, possibly y. y. or y.r., maybe it's neither, take a look yourself.
In good condition, minor scratching on glass body, no chips or cracks.
Unusual thick lid lever in pretty design with amazing, sparkling blue prism stone in diamond cut insert. Stone sits firm.
Lid movement of about 1cm from left to right, also slight forward movement. Hinge needs tightening if this Stein was intended for frequent use as lid needs a little adjustment after being lowered, though some may not find this bothersome.
Stein can be used but may rather be suited for display unless hinge is tightened, this is left up for the buyer to decide.
Straight panel glass cut design with large, easy grip handle. Multiple small air bubble and debris enclosures.
This is a very pretty, eye catching piece, especially with the rare blue prism stone.
Most prism stone Steins are clear or white, blue ones are rare.
Measuring 20cm tall to tip of stone (22cm up to lever), 8.5cm base diameter and 0.5 liter capacity mark.
