1930s Small Beige Leather Handbag - Vintage Handbags
A lovely little handbag from the 1930s with crinkled beige leather and chrome hardware, including a decorative bar to the front, and an oblong clasp that has that lovely click to it when you close it. The top handle of the bag is doubled over and connected at the centre with a leather loop. There is a long link chain shoulder strap which I believe to have been added at a later date since it doesn't have allowance to be closed inside the bag when you don't want to use it. I have left it on in case you want to keep it as a shoulder bag, but it is really easy to take off if you wish.
The inside is lined with finely corded material that looks like silk, but of that I can't be sure. There is an open pocket on one side which is top hemmed with beige leather and there is an integrated purse at the centre of the bag which has two separate compartments, and closes with a kiss clasp. This little bag is in very, very good condition for it's age. The only thing I can see to note for you is that there are a few extremely small rust marks on the inside lining, which appear to be where the metal of the purse sits, and the metal on the internal purse hardware has some small tarnished spots.
The outside is clean and smart with no sign of wear. All in all it looks to have hardly been used.
A small bag, large in quality. Perfect for everyday or evening use and a great addition to your vintage accessories collection.
