Very Rare, New Old Stock, Never Worn, U.S. Army Wool Flannel Shirt, Coat Style Special. Olive Drab, Pattern Date: April 21st, 1943, Manufacture Date: March 19th, 1945, Fordham Shirt Company, Inc., Distributed by Philadelphia Quarter Master Depot, Stock Number SS-5-5650-5, Tent Sped. OD No. 473 (see photos).

This Piece is Immaculate, made of 100-Percent High Quality Wool Flannel with absolutely no signs of age including no moth bites, holes or nibbles, no mildew or mold or other storage odors, Stored Judiciously all these years. Has Interior Flap (as shown in Second Photos) which fastens with Three Interior Buttons and Two Buttons under back of Collar (as shown in Fourth Photo). ➦ BACKGROUND:
Both White and African-American women were employed making shirts at the Philadelphia Quarter Master Depot, joining together in the war effort. The Philadelphia Quarter Master Depot (formerly the Schuylkill Arsenal) was built in 1800 and also outfitted the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

**All measurements were taken on exterior of garment, laid flat and fully buttoned

● From shoulder seam to shoulder seam at top of garment with front side down: 19-inches
● Sleeves, from shoulder seam to end of sleeve: 25-inches
● Chest, measured directly under the arms on back of garment: 46-inches total (23-inches on each side, front and back)
● Length, from seam where shirt body meets collar to bottom of the garment in the middle of the back: 33-inches
