Lovely 1960s vintage Breton style women's hat in a light beige, semi rigid shag felt. Inner label reads "Made in France for Hutzler Brothers Co". The material is not noted on the label, but I am almost positive it is Cashmere. I feel confident in this identification after viewing similar hats, due to the appearance (short pile exterior, felted interior) and extremely soft feel.
This hat features a wide, upturned brim and a low crown which is creased around the top circumference. There is a beige ribbon around the base of the crown that is hidden by the brim. The ribbon is attached to the rear of the inner bring by a thread, and it is not tied in a bow (may have been at one point). The edges of the ribbon are fraying (under 1 inch of fray).
Besides the above mentioned ribbon fray, the hat is in excellent condition. There is no staining or discoloration, nor any holes or other damage. The "fur" is luxurious and clean, clearly it was wonderfully cared for.
