Stunning handled nappy with vivid pink roses that are all hand painted bears the famous Nippon maple leaf mark in blue, dating it from 1891 to 1921. This could be used as a candy dish or for serving other goodies, but is so lovely as a stand alone piece of antique porcelain, with it's delicate beading around the rim, it is sure to draw comments where ever you display it. Would make a wonderful gift for the bride, or someone special in your life.
This very collectible beauty is 6 1/2" across, counting the handle and in wonderful vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or flea bites. The gold gilding shows some wear, but still has a nice mellow glow to it. The roses are in vivid pinks and are hand painted, not a transfer pattern, as the brush strokes show very clearly under the loop.
