If you are using any handheld device, you may use your fingertips to minimize and maximize the picture you are viewing to see each piece in great detail, at every angle. The listing description notes specific measurements, jewelry will always look larger in photography than in real life.
The unique and beautiful fine jewelry offered is 20 to over 150 years old and is sold"as is." We are an independent dealer carefully selecting and honestly depicting the most pretty and unique pieces available. Antique& Vintage Rings:
Antique and Vintage rings are rare one of a kind pieces that no one else will own, that have mysterious and exciting pasts. The wear that these types of pieces possess show it's history, like our bodies do as we grow older. In their life they may have been pre-owned by more than one caretaker.
Antique rings are often more lightweight and thin than their modern day counterparts. Some may have been personally engraved, offering us a peek into it's past. They may possess a genuine antique or vintage patina (darkening of the metal), this may be polished clean by a reputable jeweler or left as is to preserve the integrity.
Some have had a past sizing, and other metals may have been used to complete the sizing. Some have had a past sizing that may have made the back of the band thinner (more delicate). This may also include repairs or alterations done by a previous owner, not excluding the replacement of stones.
Not all pieces are marked for content due to a past sizing, or because of the era they were made. Prior to the Gold& Silver Stamping Act of 1906 jewelry was not required to possess a stamp to verify content. Some pieces have settings that required the stones - pearls to be glue or"epoxied" in, meaning it is not prong set and the glue may be as old as the ring itself depending on it's past. If in a picture you do not see prongs holding a stone in, it is bezel set and the stone may be glued in.
Antique and Vintage rings, like modern rings, are made with Genuine, Man Made, and Synthetic stones. Man Made stones are created in a lab and have the same chemical composition as Genuine (Earth Mined).
Antique pieces can be fragile and may not be suitable for everyday wear. Please take into consideration your occupation and lifestyle when choosing a particular piece. Please expect some degree of wear, some pieces may have condition issues such as missing tips or prongs, stones with surface wear or chips, and shanks and settings that have dings, dents, light breaks, or are slightly out of round. Lastly, these pieces require routine maintenance as any piece of jewelry will, and given their age they may require maintenance or repair(s) at any time during it's life with you.
