ANTIQUE Hart & Hertel Marked Numbered Wooden Cigar Wood Mold VERY Cool! This is an OLD Wooden 20-Hole Cigar Mold! It's from Germany! It comes apart in two pieces. It is Marked & I've provided pictures from EVERY angle below (scroll down to see them). The markings are embossed INTO the wood. It is marked with the number "8" and the letters "DRGM" (stands for "Deutsches Reiches Gebrauchs Musterschutz" - meaning protected patented design under the Reich Government, Germany) and "Hart & Hertel No. 17781 Schwetzingen Hei Mannheim" (just fyi: Schwetzingen is a little town located near the city of Mannheim in Germany). It's marked on the end "Hier offnen und Schliessen" (which translates to "open and shut here"). It also has the number "709" stamped into the wood at one end of both molds. It folds open as pictured. I've sold a few of these old cigar mold/presses through the years. SO many have damage inside because the little "molds" where the cigars go are actually kind of delicate. So I LOVE the fact that the interior of this piece is COMPLETE and in such WONDERFUL condition (I've provided MANY high resolution pictures from all angles below). It's HARD for me to capture the beautiful patina taking the pictures INSIDE so I've included several High Resolution pictures taken OUTSIDE for your inspection. We haven't carried these very often because most of the ones we've come across were either too damaged (to the point that they look old and boring) OR not marked well (if at ALL). What caught my eye with THIS one is A) the gorgeous warm patina and B) the WONDERFUL MARKINGS ingrained into the wood. The one you see below is the one you will Receive. Measures 22" long, 3 1/2" deep & 2 3/8" tall. Would make a wonderful stand alone conversation piece! Keep an eye out for the other pieces Rick and I just picked up on our latest antique & primitives buying run because if you like pieces like this we have more we'll be listing soon!
