Stunning 32 ounce crystal serving pitcher with ice lip by Fostoria Glass in the American pattern, which was their most prolific pattern. This vintage piece of glass was made from 1939 to 1982, which shows you how popular it was, for the company to keep it in their inventory for over 40 years. Seligson's book says it is a 3 pint pitcher and Replacements, who refer to it as an ice lip jug, says 32 ounces.
This beauty is about 6 1/2" high and in wonderful vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or discoloration. The glass is so clear, it looks like ice cubes. it could be considered elegant glassware of the depression era, but then it's continued production into mid century and beyond makes it difficult to date.
