Condition - newly made with freshly laundered recycled material. Some natural fraying, characteristic of rag rugs, but sturdy, clean, no stains, odors, etc.
Care instructions - hand wash or machine gentle, machine spin, re-shape, and lay flat in ventilated area to dry. For best results, and to keep this rug as eco-friendly as possible, do NOT machine dry! NOTE: This rug is made entirely from cotton, which is more prone to mildew and fading than cotton blends. So, for this reason, please avoid placing this run in direct sunlight, (to keep the colors fresh), or in open outdoor spaces where it can mildew. Why are my rugs more expensive than in some other shops? My rugs are "finer" meaning I used narrower fabric strips and a smaller crochet hook. It takes longer to produce the final product this way, but the result is a less bulky, rustic look.
A NOTE ABOUT MY RUGS:
***Why are my rugs more expensive than in other shops?
Well ahead of taking the first stitch, I search for good, quality used fabric. A lot of thought goes into the design, and the goal is for the right “look”, in color, balance, and adaptability for a wide variety of spaces.
Also, my rugs are "finer" meaning I use narrower fabric strips and a smaller crochet hook. It takes longer to achieve the final product, but the result is a more refined, less bulky, and less rustic look. If you’re looking for a very thick, rustic rug, mine may not be what you’re looking for.
Also, my rugs are apt to be more suitable for use as door mats for a couple of reasons. First, thinner rugs are more apt to provide the needed clearance with doors than thicker rag rugs. And, because many of my rugs are made with cotton blend fabrics, it can be crocheted thinner without compromising high durability.
If you’re unsure that a particular rug will work for you, please feel free to contact me prior to purchasing, and I’ll be glad to help guide you with your personal décor situation.
