Walter "Walt" Whitman , born in 1819 , was a well known American poet, essayist and journalist. Whitman is among the most influential poets in the American canon, often called the father of free verse. His work was very controversial in its time, particularly his poetry collection entitled Leaves of Grass.
My miniature art doll is designed wearing khaki pants with rustic white shirt and red neck tie paired with brown linen coat and hat. Walt also has hand painted face and real fiber hair with scruffy beard and mustache. He carries a tiny replica of his famous work and stands only 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm.)
My unique art characters are created from wood, wire, clay, and paint. A perfect gift for the lover of the literary classics!
