Hand knit of medium weight, 100% Donegal Tweed Homespun virgin wool from Ireland, this is the real deal, the classic hat loved by all. You want a hat that will keep you warm even if it gets wet from sleet, snow or a little rain. That is why smart knitters know pure wool is best for warm winter clothing.
This hat is in a 2 x 2 ribbed pattern which makes it extra thick. Just under 4 ounces of wool was used, and it feels like it. There is a resilience and bounce to the fiber when you squeeze it that you get only with pure wool.
The color is a very nice brown between medium and dark brown with flecks (called neps) of brown and cream. It is a "quieter" tweed than some of my other hats.
This particular hat is 11“ tall, 1“ shorter than my others because the skein ran short, so this will fit all except large heads. There is still plenty to turn up and cover your ears with a double layer of thickness.
If this isn't exactly what you want, I have this hat in other colors both tweed and solid, and many other hats in my gallery.
