by W. MacNeile Dixon
This "children's book for grown-ups" is a First Edition published by Oxford University Press, London: Humphrey Milford, 1927. Illustrated by George Morrow.
" 'But I though, when you married the Prince,' said Michael, 'you were happy ever after. I'm sure the story-book says so.'
'Yes,' said Cinderella, 'but, you see, the story-tellers didn't forsee the War. And, besides, they are often quite careless, and don't even call on the bride after the wedding to see how she is getting on.' "
Very good condition, except for some wear and discoloration on cover, and some slight bubbling of the cloth. A handwritten gift inscription to former owner reads, "Merry Christmas - 1930 - from Aunt Florence."
