VINTAGE 70s BATIK HAWAIIAN INSPIRED MAXI DRESS
Great transitional styling, this dress is made in a heavy tie dye linen or cotton print. The accent trim is gold and blue metallic - the shimmer does not photograph but it is very festive. The dress has a "v" neck, short sleeves. empire waist, princess seams, two on seam side pockets, full back nylon zipper, and a high front slit. The dress is fully lined in light blue linen. This is an extremely well made, high end dress. There is no designer label but I believe this is a dress by Roger Milot for Fred Pearlberg . The blue union label (early 70s) is still attached.
Item: Vintage 70s Tie Dye Maxi Dress
Size: Small, estimate a 4/6
Material: No tag, feels like linen, linen blend or heavy cotton
Color(s): Off white, teal, green, blue, gold
Maker: I'm attributing this dress to Roger Milot but there is no label.
Measurements: Taken with the garment lying flat, please double bust, waist and hips. Please leave plenty of wiggle room since there is no give to the material.
Empire waist: 14"
Natural waist: 16"
Length from Shoulder to Hem: 52"
Bodice Length (shoulder to empire waist): 11.5"
Back Width: 14.5"
Sleeve length: 6"
Front slit (from hem to top of slit) 25"
*Please note: This dress was to small for my dress form (form measurements below) and could not be zippered completely*
Condition: Vintage - Very good to excellent. Two issues of note - the zipper is a bit tacky and the sleeves are lined in what looks to be a clear tulle. On one arm the tulle lining is pulling apart from the dress at the sleeve hem, but this is noticeable when worn.
Photographed on a dress form with the following measurements, Bust 35 1/2", Waist 25 1/2", Hips 35 3/4", Rib cage 29 1/2".
