This is a rare and hard to find 7 1/2" tall two handled vase, made by Erdmann Schlegelmilch, with the ES Crown mark .
This portrait is found in The Art Nouveau Years by Leland and Carol Marple, portrait is simply referred to as " Woman in Green" heavy gold and beaded frame. The neck and handles are also heavy gold, with the neck having a stippled turquoise design. There is also a wonderful stencil design throughout, and pearl luster finish found in Gaston 2nd Series. This type of pearl luster finish is shown on several ES portrait vases shown in RS Prussia and more by Mary J McCaslin as well as 4th Series Mary Frank Gaston.
No chips, cracks or repairs. Just typical wear due to age and handling, with some gold loss mostly to the handles and a few spots on gold portrait framing. A great piece for any collector, truly museum quality porcelain.
