ITEM # 614102 (Box-4)

This is a rare and hard to find Art Nouveau 7 1/4" tall handled vase as shown in RS Prussia the 4th Series by Mary Frank Gaston, made by Erdmann Schlegelmilch Prox Saxe Germany ,circa early 1900's. This piece has the mythological scene of ladies with cherub with gold stenciled floral design, also shown in 4th Series. Vase has the pearl luster finish found in Gaston 2nd Series. This type of pearl luster finish is shown on several ES portrait and transfer vases shown in RS Prussia and more by Mary J McCaslin, as well as 4th Series Mary Frank Gaston. Although unsigned, you can find this exact mold on page 229, mythological transferware scene on page 218 and exact finish pearl luster) on page 230 of Mary Frank Gaston's 4th Series Collector's Encyclopedia of RS Prussia featuring RS, ES, OS & CS porcelain, under the ES Prov Saxe chapter in her book.

No chips, cracks or repairs, one tiny pin hole mark from the manufacturing process I have tried to show in close up photo. Just typical wear due to age and handling, with some gold loss mostly to the handles. A great piece for any collector, truly museum quality porcelain.

PLEASE let me know if you need any additional photos or information before purchasing, as I sell antique / vintage items.
