A brass compact case from the 1950s featuring Fragonard's 18th century Painting "The Sermon of Love". Beautiful and still bright enamel on the front depicts the painting. Scalloped edge. In terrific shape in spite of the mirror ghosting (see photo #4), some wear consistent with age to the brass and a bit of fraying on the powder sifter. Powder puff is missing. The back has the signature star embossing that Stratton used during the early 1950s. This is a lovely piece and suitable to use with loose powder. It is also pretty to display on a dresser.
Measures approximately 3-1/2" in diameter; it is 3/8" deep.
Marked - Stratton
PLEASE NOTE: This listing is only for the compact and not other items in last photo.
