Many cultures associate this gem with moonlight, and it’s easy to see why! Moonstone is a beautiful gem variety of feldspar that is naturally composed of alternating layers. When light falls between these thin layers it is scattered, producing the phenomenon called adularescence - the bluish light that appears to billow across the gem. The visual effect is reminiscent of the full moon shining through a veil of thin, high clouds.
Typically, this gem is cut en cabochon; but these pretty specimens are fully faceted! Completely natural gemstones, prong set in solid sterling silver earrings, are genuine, mined-from-the-earth stones. Gems dangle below standard shepherd's hook style sterling wires.
Total carat weight of the pair is 1.4 carats. Gems measure 5 x 7 mm in size.
Earrings will arrive beautifully gift-boxed!
A matching pendant necklace is also available in my shop.
