Book I: Guildhall; Book II: The City Mall; Book III: Tradescant: Book IV: The Mansion House and Book V: Easter Monday. This historical novel begins in Book I -- "Lord Mayor's Day, a Hundred Years Ago. On the ninth of November, 1761, there was great jubilation in the City of London. ." These books were published in a small format & meant to be sold to travellers. 387 pp As with several of Ainsworths works this is an historical novel but the descriptions and explanations of ceremony and traditions remain today.
