Antique German Glass Beer Stein from circa 1890-1905 with 'Pickelhaube' (spike lid) and star cut base.
In very good condition, no cracks, chips or hairline fractures.
Elaborate glass relief, beautiful lid ornamentation and swung, studded lid lever.
Letters JRM impressed on one side of the hinge, denoting the pewter manufacturer. Hinge has slight forward movement but doesn't impede functionality, suitable for use.
This is a smaller Stein with a 0.25 liter capacity which gives it more of a glass feel and look, ideal for those who drink smaller volumes and like to top up more frequently. Handle is large, ample 3 finger grip or full hand hold.
Nice clean Stein of upper quality, very appealing, with multiple air bubble enclosures within the glass.
Measures 14.5 cm tall up to lip rim without lid, 21 cm tall up to top of the spike which is it's highest point, 7.5 cm base diameter and a 0.25l internal volume.
