The most unusual Pendant I have ever seen. Given to me years ago in a box of discarded jewelry by a dear friend, I have never listed these simply because I did not know what they were. A wonderful person let me know that the seed is West indian locust, Hymenaea courbaril. They are salvadorean, they are called Copinol and are typical from a town named La Palma
As you can see they are in vibrant shades of Orange, Red, Yellow, Green and Black.
Looks like a village scene with a vibrant sun and farmlands.
There is NOTHING LIKE THEM out there that I can see.
Please see the photo for exact size. The back is polished and one would almost think it was a very small chestnut when viewed from that size. Very unique and going by the age of my late friend I am dating this in the 50's. When she was in her early 20's. Please ask questions before purchasing.
