The most unusual Jewelry I have ever seen. Given to me years ago in a box of discarded jewelry by a dear friend, I have never listed this simply because I did not know it was made of. I have asked vintage teams and the best answer is that it is possibly a Hawaiian Kukui Nut. Most of the nut Jewelry I have seen are the whole nut where they have painted on top but this is halved and appears to have a scene on it, that could be hand painted and then sealed for a soft satin look. As you can see it is in vibrant shades of Orange, Red, Yellow, Green and Black. There is a wire for attaching a jewelry ring to go on a chain. There is NOTHING LIKE THEM out there that I can see. Looks like a village scene with a vibrant sun and farmlands. Please see the photo for exact size. The back is polished and one would almost think it was a very small chestnut when viewed from that size. Very unique and going by the age of my late friend I am dating this in the 50's. When she was in her early 20's. Please ask questions before purchasing. Please see other listing for set of matching earrings. Please let me know if you want the matching earrings and I will fix the listing to incorporate both.
