Cast Iron Copper Trim Bookends // Foundry Men Working // Dated 1959

 

are each approx: 6" across the front x 2.25" deep x 4.75" high (longest, widest and highest outer most points)

 

HANDSOME matched pair cast iron bookends feature two men stripped to the waist working in a foundry. Finished in a copper plate trim over cast iron and then shadowed in black. MARKED: Sparta Manufacturing Co Inc., Sparta Wisconsin, First Heat, June 1st 1959 and Sparta Sleeves on each ( back stamping on one is more legible than on the other ). I have NO BOX Condition: NICE NICE, light dust from storage. The pair sits level and they do have underside felt protectors as shown. Showing light scuff and scratches from handling / storage. GREAT!! looking pair of authentic mid-century? era bookends...
