Carl Erickson Amethyst Glass Saratoga Pitcher Metropolitan Museum of Art 1950s :
Extraordinary piece of Erickson glass commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in the 1950s. True even amethyst color features a reproduction of a 19th century design. Reproduced in the 1930s by: Unknown? and then again as you see here in the 1950s. I understand the pieces produced in the thirties were not marked...however this treasure and all of the mid-century pieces created by Erickson are clearly marked with the Metropolitan "M" on the underside. Rough pontil.
A completely "freehand" creation in the Erickson fine quality tradition.

Condition: is excellent for a mid century pre-owned piece of glass, I find no significant issue
