If you follow my blog <dixsterling.blogspot.ca> you saw me building this ring to test the design for a friend’s inherited malachite stone. A fellow member of the Creative Jewellers Guild supplied the pretty, honey-colored agate. To compliment the colour, I made the base of the bezel setting of copper sheet. I constructed the shank in two layers of sterling, allowing one to overlap the stone on both sides. I think the effect is quite interesting. This is a ring that would be fun to wear.
