I believe this to be the Teardrop pattern by Ripley Glass, an 1890's footed cracker jar with it's original cover. This covered biscuit jar, with it's lovely leaf engraving around the top was produced before the Titanic set sail. Most EAPG (early American pressed pattern glass) has reached the 100 year mark, and this beauty is no exception. It's amazing to think that such a large piece of old glassware could survive so long.
This stunning Victorian era covered cracker jar stands 9 3/4" tall with it's lid in place, while the footed jar itself is 7 1/2" tall. And, the best part of all is that it is in wonderful vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or flea bites to be found. The only flaw I can find are small rubs on 2 of the teardrops on the lid.
