Opalite cat necklace, featuring a large hand carved cat suspended pendant style on a bronze twisted chain of more Opalite beads with smaller pendants either side. A unique and eye-catching piece of jewelry - especially in sunlight when he glows bright orange like some magical witchy amulet.
This little guy is modelled on my own white cat, Monty Pythonicus (a Turkish Angora cross). He is intricately carved, with fine fur details. The design is unique and exclusive to Hérisson Rose.
Opalite (also known as Sea Opal or opalised glass) is a man-made gemstone known for it's striking appearance - it fluoresces with a pale blue glow in daylight, and intensely under UV light.
The photos were taken in filtered sunlight, to record the fine detailing. However under full sunlight, he glows orange-red, like a burning coal.
I used smaller beads of opalite with a bluer tint, and bronze filligree for the chain, which fastens with a lobster clasp, and is adjustable - So it can be worn as a long pendant, or shorter if desired. A small star charm at the end.
MEASUREMENTS: 63cm (fully adjustable to any shorter length) // 15 inches.
Cat is 5cm by 4cm. (1 3/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches)
The same pendant in AMETHYST, OBSIDIAN and BLUE GOLDSTONE (glittery) are available in my shop under different listings.
