Vintage Victorian style bridal or formal gown.
*Vintage 80’s designer dress / gown.
*Victorian in style.
*Sewn from white 50% white cotton & 50% polyester jacquard fabric.
*Fabric is a beautiful tone-on-tone flowers and bows print, (jacquard woven print on a shiny satin background), and very romantic!
*Lined with 100% acetate.
*Attached, tiered 100% nylon crinoline, for fullness.
*Scads of great antique style detailing:
Wide, gathered, drop shoulder, that could also be worn as off-shoulder. (Shoulder tops have elastic inserts for flexibility and comfort).
-Sleeveless styled dress body, with wide collar that extends as a puffed, cap style shoulder / sleeve.
-Collar/sleeve combo edged with scallop lace edging.
-Lace flower appliques on either shoulder / sleeve.
-Teardrop front placket with pin tuck detailing. Edged in picot lace edging.
-Full, gathered skirt.
-Pointed, center dropped waist.
-Long back zipper.
*Long, full, gathered skirt.
*Made in USA.
*Sewn-in hanger straps when using hanger storage. I would not recommend cutting them off.
Condition: In very good to excellent condition, most likely worn only once or twice at the most. I would describe it as excellent, if it were not for some small stains, that, for the sake of disclosure, require mentioning:
-Right sleeve, three tiny spots towards the front, near flower applique.
-A cluster of 3 tiny stains on the back side of the right sleeve. Both are very small – (~They are fairly light, and total area is not more than 5mm, total).
-On the dress front skirt – two small areas, (a few mm each), towards the bottom left side), and 2 small, very light areas, (a few mm each), near the center towards the bottom. These are very light, and you really have to search to find them. Because of the skirt fullness, no one will be able to spot them as they are apt to be hidden in the folds.
I’ve photographed the stains very closely, and they’ll appear larger the photos than they actually are. Truthfully, the dress is so pretty in all ways, that I wouldn’t hesitate to wear it proudly. After all, it’s vintage, and ready and eager to make its second debut, and is flawless in all other ways. If the stains really bother you, they can be hidden with a spot of hand-stitched lace or other hand-sewn appliques, but in all honesty, I’d leave them alone.
With that said, there are no tears or holes, pulls, discoloring, and stitching is all intact.
