Vintage porcelain Capo di Monte figurine of an old woman with a crutch or staff holding her hand out to beg and a bearded man with a musical instrument next to her. It has the collectible Capodimonte mark on the back and also some markings on the underside. There is an impressed 3 or 8 and the number 13 inside a blue mark that is too blurry to read, as shown in picture 3. These standing figures with polychrome enamels in high fired finish would be a remarkable gift for that special someone.
I am way out of my knowledge range here. I bought this at an estate auction in 1991 and aside from recognizing the Capodimonte mark I have learned little else about it. This is a quality piece and the detail, along with the color is exceptional. Delightful figural pair stands 6 1/2" tall and is in wonderful vintage condition. There appears to be something impressed in the back, just below the woman's skirt, but I cannot make it out. I welcome any information you may have on this quality piece, and would entertain offers.
