In excellent condition, 1930s German art deco bowl in vivid running glaze and Bauhaus form.
Beautiful elaborate piece, absolute eyecatcher.
This is a Uranium glaze which gives the illuminous colour. Uranium paints were widely used from the 1850s onwards to decorate ceramics, but their use is forbidden by law since the 1970s, therefore such old pieces are becoming highly sought after as no replacement has yet been found to simulate the vividness of Uranium glaze.
These bowls were traditionally used for sweets and biscuits but have a variety of purposes. I use them to store tea bags, sugar, coffee.....all sorts of bits & pieces.
13cm high, 18cm long, 16cm depth.
Perfect inside and out.
