This block of 6 unused 13 cent vintage postage stamps commemorate the 1976 Olympic Games. They were issued on July 16, 1976 and were designed by Donald Moss.

These se-tenant stamps were issued to celebrate the 1976 Olympics -- the XII Olympic Games held in mid February and The Games of the XXI Olympiad held in July.  The winter games were supposed to be held in Denver, Colorado but wound up being played in Innsbruck, Austria.  The summer games were held in Montreal, Canada.

The stamps picture four of the Olympic sports.  A block of 4 stamps shows two winter sports (skiing and skating) and two summer sports (diving and running).

A white background features the bright multicolored designs.  The athlete(s) in the picture seem to be sporting "through" the 5 Olympic rings.  "Olympics 1976" is at the top of the stamp in black; "USA 13c" is at the bottom right in red & blue.

Se-tenant is a stamp or label printed from the same plate that adjoin one another but have different designs and colors.

Each stamp measures 1 5/8" tall x 1" wide (4.1 cm x 2.5 cm).

These stamps are “mint” – meaning they have never been used. They have the original glue.

My grand-aunt collected these. She was not a “true” stamp collector & basically stored them in manila envelopes. Whenever the USPS came out with a new stamp – especially a commemorative one – she purchased at least one sheet & put them away in her envelopes.

These stamps are great for collectors both young and old alike. Additionally, they’d be great for paper crafting & jewelry making or anywhere else your creativity wants to take you. They are also a great gift for someone born on the day the stamps were issued. Frame them and give them as a nice and thoughtful gift – or keep them for yourself.

These stamps would make a lovely, thoughtful, and encouraging gift for that future Olympic athlete in your life!
