This vintage Americana olive green reproduction bottle from the 1970’s features Lady Liberty on one side and an eagle bearing a shield on the other.
The front of the bottle features the profile of Lady Liberty under an arch of stars. On the other side of the bottle is an eagle bearing a shield perched atop an olive branch. The bottom of the bottle holds only “4”; there are no other markings. It does not have a cork.
It is made of heavy olive green glass that borders an amber green color. Which color is more prominent depends upon how the light hits it – sometimes the yellow is more apparent.
The bottle stands 8 5/8" tall (21.9cm) x 4 3/4" (12.1cm) at its widest point.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There are air bubbles that show for a “realistic” old effect and there is also a deep yellow brown line that goes through the bottom of Lady Liberty. Again, I believe this was done upon manufacturing for the effect of making it look “old”.
Bottles were also one of my mother’s favorite collectibles & this is one from that collection.
This bottle is a great versatile piece! It can be used in the kitchen to hold specialty oils & vinegars or it can be a decoration in any room of your home. These bottles look gorgeous on a window sill with sunlight streaming through painting their glorious color throughout the room. They also make a terrific vase.
